Is The HCG Diet Safe?

Is The HCG Diet Safe?
If you’ve been reading the other posts on this blog you know my opionion of the HCG diet already. In fact if you haven’t yet then read this: HCG Diet Dangers

But if you have read it all and how to do the HCG diet safely then let’s compare the HCG diet with other forms of weight loss and see which is safer and/or more effective.

So I won’t even go into all the diet pills that are out there in great detail but let’s cover them broadly. First most of them work by speeding your heart rate up, making you burn more calories. This is extremely dangerous for someone who probably already has blood pressure and heart conditions due to the extra weight. So that makes them dangerous. Of course they do work in some cases but the effects aren’t all that great.

The next one that seems to be extremely popular out there is the whole Weight Watchers thing. You count the points that are assigned to each thing you are eating and you stay within the allowed amount of points. This is safe and there’s not much danger to that. BUT from what I’ve seen the weight loss is so minimal that it actually is dangerous because the participants are staying overweight longer. And the longer you are overweight, the more unhealthy (i.e. unsafe and dangerous) it is. For example I knew one couple on WW and there goal was to lose 1 pound a week. A WEEK! So to lose over a hundred pounds that would take you over 2 years, that’s not exactly safe or practical.

The next segment are the surgeries like the lap-band and other stomach stapling like procedures. Well they are effective even though I do know some people who even that has failed them but for the most part effective. The problems though are numerous! First off the surgery is life threatening. Yes, people die getting just the surgery done! Secondly, it’s incredibly invasive and you are altering your insides, that’s dangerous no matter what you tell me. And lastly it’s not like you can undo these procedures easily if you have complications. You can’t just wake up tomorrow and “stop” your stomach stapling and that’s a major problem. Not to mention the cost of these procedures!

Now let’s compare that with the HCG diet (if done correctly of course!).

First off, you are eating healthy food. This isn’t like the Atkins diet where you are eating just meats and high fatty foods. This is eating really good foods that are good for you. Like protein, vegetables, fruits and yes, even carbs! So you are well rounded in your diet.

Next, the weight loss is quick. If you are unhealthy you can get healthy extremely quick. Don’t listen to anyone who says you have to lose weight slowly! If you change the way you eat you will lose weight quickly because being fat is HARD to maintain. Yup, it’s hard to stay fat. You have to constantly keep eating and eat the wrong foods. On the HCG diet you don’t eat those kind of foods so the fat just melts away.

Also, the HCG is a naturally occurring substance that’s in your body already. It doesn’t increase your heart rate and does nothing but help with your hunger and target the right kind of fat to lose. There are no lasting side effects and it’s been proven safe for over 60 years. Hard to beat that!

It’s also something that you can pause, if you have something come up like being sick or you have a family emergency you can stop immediately, it’s extremely flexible.

I could go on and on for several more pages but you get the idea. As long as you are doing the HCG diet the right way and with the right product, it’s probably the safest and most effective diet out there, hands-down.

Top 3 Dangerous Behaviors During The HCG Diet

Top 3 Dangerous Behaviors During The HCG Diet

OK, I’ve been working with people who are on the HCG diet for a long time now. And I’ve noticed a few dangerous behaviors while on the diet.
This isn’t so much dangers to your health but more dangerous to your weight loss. If you are looking for more of the health side then read this article here: HCG Diet Dangers
So let’s begin.
The first behavior I notice that some people get into is the one of “counting calories”. It’s true that the HCG diet is roughly 500 calories a day. But that means NOTHING!
You don’t count calories while on the diet, you follow a list of specific foods you eat in certain quantities. And you measure your food by weighing it or using typical measuring tools like cups or tablespoons.
But some people try and make it more complicated. They say things like “well if I skip my chicken for dinner that leaves me an extra 125 calories, so can I add in some chili which only has 50 calories and then have a dinner roll which has only 60 calories, because then I’m even eating fewer calories!?”
Listen to me carefully…NO!
It’s not about counting calories, it’s not about swapping this for that and making “deals”. The diet is proven and has worked for thousands of people, but you must stick to the guidelines. So don’t try to switch food out or add extra things by counting calories. Counting calories is a bore and not effective so just stick to the plan.
The second behavior I notice is that people try to do too much by adding in exercise. And exercise is NOT needed while on this diet. In fact you really shouldn’t be doing it at all because of the low calorie diet you are on. You simply don’t have enough calories to expend by working out.
Of course you can walk and that’s highly recommended and helpful but don’t overdo it. You don’t need to exercise while on the diet. Just stick to the plan and exercise as soon as you hit the maintenance phase.
The third dangerous behavior while on the HCG diet is not recognizing your success.
This is a biggie!
I know clients who have lost 30+ pounds in less than 30 day, but if they have one or two bad days they are about ready to give up or they freak out and try to make changes to the diet.
Don’t do that!
The weight loss will fluctuate and our bodies are not machines. Our bodies are constantly changing and some variation is to be expected. Especially for us women, our weight loss is far more inconsistent than men. But just stick to the program and you’ll do fine.
It’s about taking these small steps everyday and soon you’ll look back and wonder how you lost 50 pounds.
So those are my top 3 dangerous behaviors while on the HCG diet. I could add more but that’s enough for now.

Are There Any HCG Diet Dangers?

Are There Any HCG Diet Dangers?

The HCG diet is known to be an effective treatment for weight loss. But like any other weight loss treatment, a lot of misinformation has been spread about HCG, misleading people to think that HCG can impose certain dangers to the body.

Most information is from people who have not participated in the HCG diet. Other misinformation is from different weight loss treatment products proclaiming that they own the best diet treatment available.

For the most part, such an occurrence cannot be avoided. The need to lose weight has produced an ever growing demand for weight loss treatments that could provide immediate results. Hence, the vast competition in selling and advertising diet treatments to its consumers.

However, what we can address is the false information being spread about the HCG diet.

For those of us who have participated in the HCG diet and have come out successful, we know for a fact that HCG is safe. From the first use of HCG by Dr. Simeons, the physician who designed the HCG diet, in conducting his experiments, up until now with the thousands more participating in the diet, there have been no solid evidence to prove HCG to be harmful to our health and body.

As a matter of fact, high doses of HCG have been approved by the FDA for use in fertility clinics. Although the FDA has yet to approve HCG as a weight loss treatment, the approval in the use of HCG clearly shun rumors of its dangers. Furthermore, compared to the amount of HCG used in fertility clinics which is 10 times more than what is required to complete the HCG diet protocol, HCG in whatever form is a harmless hormone to take.

What people should be more worried about is the quality of HCG they are buying. With the growing demand and competition, it cannot be avoided that many grab the opportunity to con consumers in buying their products, which they claim “the best” HCG product available in the market. If you have done your research, you would know that in whatever method HCG is administered, you would get the same results, as long as a good quality of HCG is used for the duration of the treatment.

In addition, don’t be fooled right away with inexpensive HCG products. Before buying, it is essential that you also get a background on your supplier and find out if what they are selling is at par to what HCG is supposed to be. Moreover, talking to people who have participated in the HCG diet protocol and knowing the brand they have used will help you avoid the danger of buying low quality HCG products.
